Ms. Deconstructed Icon

'Ms. Deconstructed Icon' came out of experimentation during a meeting at my university art club. It is my first ever collage art piece made from fashion magazines, a found image of a screaming cat on the internet, and aggressively layered with paint markers on top of construction paper. She is an expression of what I feel top women in American and global industries are challenged to the fullest extent. A woman's effort in her passions is sometimes exploited for profitable gain at her expense. On the other hand, we are sometimes just tired of the unrealistic idea of perfection. Thus, this piece is her calling to challenge the expectations placed upon her, a cry for imperfection and destruction of societal ideals.
